When you view items in the secondary mailbox, new items may not appear or items seem to be missing. For example, you may experience the following symptoms: Switch to the Data Files tab -> select the PST file just added and set it as the default for the profileĪssuming you don't have anything you want to keep in the newly created PST file in the new profile, remove the PST file that isn't needed anymore. When you try to access folders in a secondary Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox that was added to your Microsoft Outlook profile, you may experience random performance problems. Now, if you don't want to create another new profile, open the Control Panel app -> click on button -> highlight the POP3 account -> click on the button at the bottom of the window and then select the PST file from the original profile. Really really simple solution - when you create the new profile and configure the POP3 account again, simply use the same PST file from the original profile. and will not bring any subfolders but is there any other way, to bring my subfolders from my original profile to new profile So i created another profile and created same email account. If you use POP3, you will have to manually migrate your folder hierarchy off one machine to all other machines. If you use IMAP4, your folder hierarchy will automagically create itself with each new client. but is there any other way, to bring my subfolders from my original profile to new profile ?įirst switch to IMAP4, if you'd like to leave mail on the server + use multiple clients to access the same mail store. After initial setup a simple CRON job can be use to renew test the cert every day + renew it when required + even restart your POP3/IMAP4 mail server when cert renews, to ingest the new cert.Ĥ) so i created another profile and created same email account. I recommend you use LetsEncrypt certs as they're free. This means the SSL/TLS cert on your server requires updating. You subfolders only live on your local box, where you run your mail client.ģ) but i keep on getting an certificate error when i open outlook. i know pop3 syncs from inbox to the server.Ĭorrect. Some very old servers attempt this + it never works well.Ģ) i got many subfolders below inbox. Most POP3 servers have no code to even attempt this. If you're attempting to leave email on a server + pull an entire folder hierarchy, use IMAP4, as POP3 isn't really designed to do this very well. This means all syncs will pull email into your Inbox only. Feel free to provide your own instructions based on your take of what his present config is.ġ) I got a POP3 email account in my laptop. My answer was based on my take of what his current configuration is and it will work. so take my comment as a constructive objection pleaseĭid you not notice the smiley? I'm neither upset or having a go at you mate :) The question isn't perfectly clear in describing his current scenario. If you read my entire answer, I did say "Now simply remove the IMAP account to the email server" after his sub-folders were recreated in Outlook. switching to IMAP it's undoubtedly a good practice but it's not what the OP is asking for The question to me indicates that he has made sub-folders via a web interface to his email server. No, only for the purposes of downloading his subfolders. On the contrary, the way I read the question, what I am assuming is that he does "not" have a PST, otherwise, if he did, then transferring from the old PST would have imported his Inbox sub-folders. Micelangelo, It's really not clear what actions are you recommending to take -other than supposing the OP has a previous PST available
